Josef Masopust (9 February 1931 in Střimice u Mostu - 29 June 2015 in Prague) was a Czechoslovak football player and coach. In 1962 he received the Golden Ball award for the best European footballer. In 2000, he won the Czech Football Personality of the Century award and shortly afterwards experts voted him Czech Footballer of the Century. In 2004, Pelé ranked him among the 125 best living footballers. He featured on the UEFA Jubilee 52 Golden Players list.
