Original copy of Slovak sports magazine ŠTART No. 36 of 21 September 1961. This issue from the ninth year (297th issue in total) features an article "Three Heroes" on the front page and a report on Fidel Castro on the back. The magazine ŠTART was an important sports weekly in Slovakia, bringing up-to-date sports news and quality photo reports.
The magazine "Štart" focused on sports news, reports, interviews with athletes, analysis of sports performances and other topics related to sports. In addition to traditional sports, the magazine also focused on less traditional sports disciplines. At the time of its greatest popularity, "Start" was one of the most widely read sports magazines in Czechoslovakia. Thanks to its broad scope and quality content, it gained many readers. With the advent of the 1990s and the political and economic changes in the region, the magazine began to face various challenges, including a decline in readership and advertising revenue. As a result, the magazine was discontinued. "Start" was known for its high quality photographs and attractive design, featuring major sporting events and personalities.
