HUMOUR
Humor is a ubiquitous aspect of the sport. While there are sociological writings that focus on the sociology of humour, little attention has been paid to the sociology of humour and sport. Yet the problematic nature of sporting outcomes provides a fertile area for humour to emerge. Humour in sport can be seen as play, social integration, the promotion of superiority and contempt, and as a means of exploring the social problems that exist in modern sport.
